Modern imaging technology is an important part of everyday medical life. Our contrast media improve the representation of structures and functions within the body and are used in X-rays, computed (CT) and magnetic resonance tomography (MRT) and ultrasound examinations. Depending on the medical investigation procedure, different product types are used.
For instance, iodine-based contrast media are used in X-rays, including computed tomography (CT). On the one hand, this makes it possible to see vessels and organs on the X-ray image which would otherwise not be visible. On the other hand, a gadolinium-based substance class is used in the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) field.

At BIPSO, the well-known contrast media Imeron^® and Solutrast^® are produced for CT and X-ray examinations, MultiHance^® and ProHance^® for MR examinations.
Sonovue^® is used for ultrasound examinations but is produced at the company’s site in Geneva, Switzerland (“Bracco Suisse SA”).
